-
Make sure before you start that drill-bit is inserted.
-
Hold the bit tip against the work surface. Push the
depth gauge against the work surface, to the same depth
as the length of the bit.
-
Read the value in mm off the scale on the depth gauge
and subtract the required drill depth.
START UP
1. Reversing the Rotational Direction.
The rotational direction switch I is used to reverse the
rotational direction of the machine. However, this is not
possible with the On/Off switch J actuated.
Right rotation: For drilling and driving in screws, push
the rotational direction switch I downward on the left side
and at the same time upward on the right side.
Left rotation: For loosening and unscrewing screws
and nuts, push the rotational direction switch I upward on
the left side and at the same time downward on the right
side.
2. Switching On and Off
To start the machine, press the On/Off switch J and
keep it pressed. To lock the pressed On/Off switch J,
press the lock-on button K. To switch off the machine,
release the On/Off switch J or when it is locked with the
lock-on button K, briefly press the On/Off switch J and
then release it.
3. Adjusting the Speed
The speed of the switched on power tool can be
variably adjusted, depending on how far the On/Off switch
J is pressed.
Light pressure on the On/Off switch J results in a low
rotational speed. Further pressure on the switch results in
an increase in speed.
4. Preselecting the Speed
With the thumbwheel for speed preselection F,
the required speed can be preselected even during
operation.
The required speed depends on the material and
the working conditions, and can be determined through
practical testing.
5. Setting the Operating Mode
Drilling.
Set the selector switch A to the "Drilling" symbol.
Impact Drilling.
Set the selector switch A to the "Impact drilling"
symbol.
Two speed ranges can be preselected with the gear
selector G.
Gear I:
Low speed range; for working with large drilling.
Gear II:
High speed range; for working with small drilling
diameter.
Note. If the gear selector G cannot be fully engaged,
lightly rotate the drive spindle with the drill bit by twisting the
drill chuck.
OPERATION
Drilling.
-
Fit the drill.
-
Place the drill against the material before switching
it on, press it until the lengthways play is taken up, then
switch on and work exerting light pressure (e.g. 30N).
Note! Exerting greater pressure does not increase the
machine's effectiveness!
-
Take the drill out of the hole from time to time to
6
remove dust.
NOISE AND VIBRATION
This tool has been designed and made to reduce
noise to a minimum. However, in spite of this, in certain
circumstances the maximum noise level in the place of
work could exceed 85 dBA. In this case, the operator
should wear ear protection.
The machine's noise and vibration levels, measured in
compliance with EN60745, usually reach:

Noise values
Sound pressure level
81.7 dB(A)
LpA
Sound power level

Use ear protection!
WARNING! The vibration level given in these
instructions has been measured in accordance with
a standardized measurement procedure specified in
EN60745 and can be used to compare devices. Different
uses of the device give rise to different vibration levels and
in many cases they may exceed the values given in these
instructions. It is easy to underestimate the vibration load
if the electrical power tool is used regularly in particular
circumstances.
Note. If you wish to make an accurate assessment of
the vibration loads experienced during a particular period of
working , you should also take into account the intervening
periods of time when the device is switched off or is running
but is not actually in use. This can result in a much lower
vibration load over the whole of the period of working.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE
WARNING! Always unplug the machine before
carrying out work on it.
-
The machine should be taken to a technical service
centre if the power falls.
-
Tool inspection: Using a worn tool will reduce the
efficiency of the work being performed and could lead to
motor damage and the tools should be changed when any
abrasion is noted. Daily: Clean the tool holder.
-
Inspect the mounting screws: Regularly inspect all
the mounting screws and ensure they are firmly tightened.
Should any screw be loose, tighten it immediately. Failure
to do so could put you at serious risk.
-
Motor maintenance: Take the utmost care to ensure
that the motor winding is not damaged and does not
become damp with oil or water.
