Operating instructions
1.
Put the small and the big counterweights on the mortises that correspond to your approximate
weight.
2.
Go up onto the base of the scale and adjust the small counterweight until the level is centred.
You do not need to wait for the pointer to stop completely to determine the exact weight. If
it moves the same distance for both sides of the level the weight will be right. Even if the
level is not perfectly centred, if it moves, it means that you have an approximation of 100
gr.
3.
Total weight can be obtained adding the readings of both small and big counterweights.
Guide to solve problems
Incorrect weight
The accuracy of those scales is of more or less 100 gr. when they are calibrated in our plant. This means
that two calibrated scales can give you a difference of 200 gr. between them and still be well calibrated.
In order to get a more accurate weight , put the scale on a steady surface and stand on the centre of the
platform distributing the weight as well as possible. If the difference still seems excessive, revise the
following:
1 Balance of the tiltable headstock in zeros
The tiltable headstock must sway in such a way that the level bubble stops its movement in the centre
when both counterweights are in zero. Verify that the big counterweight is firmly adjusted in the zero
mortise. If the scale is not calibrated, adjust it turning the equilibrating weight situated on the right side
of the tiltable headstock.
2 The tiltable headstock does not move freely.
Revise that the tiltable headstock does not touch with the lower bearing at any point in its travel. If this
is the case, align the tiltable arm again.
3 The platform sways too much or touches the base in a corner.
You must not feel any considerable sway when you press down any corner of the platform. If you do,
you will probably have to adjust one of the bearings in "V" shape, in order to level the platform, or
maybe there is a broken pivot.
4 The tiltable arm does not move at all during weighing process.
This happens if the counterweights are situated in a higher weight than the real weight of the person on
the scale. Put the counterweight on a lower weight. Another reason can be that the transmission rod
(the cable inside the pillar) is unattached or not properly connected. This may happen when the scale is
changed of place. See picture 3 in order to connect this rod properly.
