Cause
Cable is disconnected or not connected
properly.
The sound is cut off.
Monaural sound is being input through
the AUDIO jack.
Cause
The lamp cover or the air filter cover is
detached.
The lamp has reached the end of its life.
The lamp becomes a high temperature.
The fan is broken.
The internal temperature is unusually
high.
The electric system failed.
Meaning
Internal temperature is too high.
This input signal cannot be projected as
the frequency is out of the acceptable
range of the projector.
The resolution setting of the output
signal of a computer is too high.
You have input RGB signal from the
computer when INPUT-A in the SET
SETTING menu is set to COMPONENT,
DTV YP
P
or DTV GBR.

It is time to replace the lamp.
Meaning
No input signal
You have pressed the wrong key.
SPEAKER in the SET SETTING menu
has been set to OFF.
Remedy
Check that the proper connections have been
made (see pages 15 (GB) to 18 (GB)) .
Press the AUDIO MUTING key to release the
muting function (see page 19 (GB)) .
Input stereo sound.
Remedy
Attach the cover securely (see pages 32 (GB) and
33 (GB)).
Replace the lamp (see page 32 (GB)).
Wait for 120 seconds to cool down the lamp and
turn on the power again (see page 19 (GB)) .
Consult with qualified Sony personnel.
Check to see if nothing is blocking the ventilation
holes.
