If watches are wound up on watch winders for any length of time there is
a tendency for the mainspring to run in the slip clutch. In order to prevent
such unnecessary load on the winding mechanism, the TIME MOVER
simulates normal wear during the "sleep phase". A 10-16 hour rest phase
per day enables the winding spring to relax.

10.5 DOES THE TIME MOVER
The arbitrary selection of clockwise and counter-clockwise winding and the
actual number of revolutions ensures that every automatic watch is wound
correctly. If in doubt, use the combination of clockwise and counter-clock-
wise winding. If the watch is without power reserve, fi rst use SPEEDWIND-
ING for one hour and then switch the device back to normal operation.
