The boiler must be cleaned approximately every two months as follows:
• Unplug the appliance and leave to cool.
• Hold the appliance over an appropriate container (sink) and empty it.
• Fill the steam-generating unit with lukewarm water and rinse it carefully. Repeat the operation
two to three times.
• Remember that only regular cleaning protects the appliance from scale formation: in this
way problems such as clogging, longer heating phases and damages to the steam-
generating unit may be avoided.
The pilot light G will go on. Once the selected temperature has been reached, the light will go
off. While ironing, the pilot light goes on and off automatically. Do not worry about it.
The ironing top can reach really high temperatures in just a few minutes. A thermostat regu-
lates the temperature automatically.
As the water heats up, pressure develops in the boiler. When the expected steam pressure is
reached, the steam-ready light H will go on. Do not press the steam button before the light
goes on.
While ironing and during the emission of steam and the pauses, this light goes on and off
automatically. Do not worry about it.
When the pressure in the boiler has reached the set value, the safety thermostat deactivates
the flow of electricity to the boiler. Another safety feature is the valve in the safety cap of the
boiler. This cap must be screwed on tightly at all times however, try and avoid screwing it on
too hard lest the rubber washer may get damaged. Should this occur, steam will come out of
the cap and either the rubber washer or the cap will need to be replaced.
