7. Now move the thermometer smoothly over the patient's
eyebrow from the forehead to the temple to measure the
maximum temperature. While the sensor scans this area, you
will hear slow beeps at first. As soon as the thermometer
measures higher temperatures, the beeps speed up. The
sequence of beeps then slows down to indicate that the
maximum temperature has been recorded.
8. As soon as this happens, release the START button
- If the reading is at or above the fever level, you will hear 10
short beeps, and the backlight of the display will be red to
indicate that the patient may have a fever.

The body temperature which is classed as a
fever (fever level) varies depending on body
location where it is measured

- If the reading is below the fever level, you will
hear a long beep and the backlight of the
display will be green.
When the °C symbol flashes again after 2
seconds, the thermometer is ready for anoth-
er reading.
