Hold the deadman's handle in this position to close the tool/blades. Pressure is built
up in the tool. Return oil from the tool flows back to the pump without pressure.

Use
6.1
General
The equipment of a rescue system must always be ready for use. That means the equipment must be
checked and inspected directly after use, before it is put away.
WARNING
Make sure you are up to date on all safety regulations and that you have mastered the use of
all equipment of the system you are going to work with.
Never try to connect or disconnect hydraulic couplers if the equipment is being used or if the
system is under pressure.
CAUTION
Prevent kinking: Do not use the hose with damaged bend restrictors and do not bend the
hose beyond the minimum bending radius of 75 mm.
Do not pull the hose to move a tool or a pump.
6.2
Before use
•
Check the carrying handle is firmly fixed.
•
Check the protective cover is present and not damaged.
•
Connect the hydraulic hoses. Refer to section 5.2.2.
•
Start the hydraulic pump.
6.3
During use
WARNING
Wear personal means of protection at all times.
Never stand immediately behind the tool. These tools have enormous power.
6.3.1
Extend the wedge - lifting
•
Position the wedge blades between the object to be spread:
-
Make sure that the wedge blades are in contact with the load over the greatest possible area.

Prevent concentrated loads on the wedge blades.
-
Prevent the load from contacting the protective cover.
WARNING
Make sure that the load always rest on the grip surfaces of the wedge blades (Fig. 2,7).

Turn the deadman's handle to the position "open" so that the wedge is extended and the objects are
pushed apart:

It is possible that the cylinder will rotate vis-a-vis the wedge. This is the result of insufficient grip
of one of the wedge blades. Prevent this excessive rotation by stopping and starting again.
