from forming within the heat exchange coil, and in the case of
operation in the cooling phase, to ensure proper drainage of the
condensate. (AREO C)
Figure 11.12 p. 78 shows an example of a hydraulic connec-
tion diagram in which, on the condensation drain pipe, at the
output from the unit, a drainage sump, a Y filter, a steam trap, a
flow indicator and a shut-off valve are positioned. (Only for AREO
S)
If the unit is to be ceiling mounted (for vertical air flow), make
sure it is installed in a perfectly level position.
On completing installation, open and direct the louvers.
B
WARNING: for hydraulic connections use a tightening
wrench to avoid the manifold rotation that may damage the
heat exchanger (11.9 p. 77)
In table 5.1 p. 7, 5.2 p. 8, 5.4 p. 9 and 5.3 p. 8 are
shown motors electric features.
WARNING FOR AREO C:
When used in air conditioning mode there should be an ade-
quately sized condensate drain line (with sufficient inclination),
ensuring its operation is tested before starting the unit.
B
WARNING: In order to prevent dragging condensate phe-
nomena use the AREO C fan heaters in the cooling phase
only at the maximum speeds permitted for each model. The
maximum permitted speed for each model is indicated by
the symbol
on the RVM speed regulator supplied with
the unit (mandatory accessory)
B
WARNING: cooling operation is ONLY allowed for WALL-
MOUNTED units
The water inlet must be placed in correspondence with the low-
er fitting, in order to have improved air ventilation inside the coil
and a correct functioning of the heat exchanger.
In case of extraordinary weather events, the unit must be
stopped; prior to putting it back into operation, it must be in-
spected by qualified personnel who must first check the integ-
rity of the cooling circuit (pipes and components) and electri-
cal connections, and verify that the safety devices are working
properly.
Electrical connections
Ū The standard motors installed in AREO fan heaters are of
the closed type: asynchronous three-phase 2-speed motors
(400/400 V Y/∆ connection ) or single-phase single-speed
motors.
Ū 400/400 V Y/∆ motors are equipped internally with klixon and
the speeds are selected by means of a normal star(Y)-delta
switch(∆) (accessory CST), figure 11.17 p. 83.
Ū The terminals of the klixon are connected to the terminal
block so that they can be used as protection in series with
the coil of a contactor ((TOP/TW/TB in the terminal block,
from figures 11.21 p. 87).
20
AREO
If the internal klixon is not used to protect the motor, it will be
necessary to provide a motor overload cut-out set at a current
that is 10-15% higher than the current indicated on the unit rat-
ing plate.
A
WARNING:
Make the electrical connections with the power
supply disconnected, in accordance with current safety reg-
ulations. All the wiring must be done by qualified personnel.
Check that the mains electricity supply is compatible with the
voltage shown on the unit rating plate.
Scrupulously follow the wiring diagram provided, according to
the type of installation.
An omnipolar mains isolator in overvoltage category III must be
present for every fan heater in the power supply line.
If single-phase fan heaters are installed on a three-phase line,
they must be connected so as to ensure an equal distribution
over the 3 phases: this will ensure a balanced load.
