A
Maintenance (SOFTWARE) port
This is used for maintenance. Do not connect anything to this
port unless instructed to do so by our service department.
B
Digital audio output (DIGITAL OUT) connectors
These output digital audio. Connect these to the digital input
connectors of a D/A converter (such as a D-05X), an SACD player
or another device.
Use commercially-available cables for the following
connections.
USB: USB cable
XLR: XLR digital cable
RCA: RCA coaxial digital cable
o Use one of the above to connect the unit to a device with
digital input.
Change the output settings according to the connector
being used (page 12).
C
10MHz clock input connector (10MHz IN CLOCK)
When outputting from the XLR or RCA connector, a 10MHz syn-
chronization (clock) signal can be input (page 12).
When using a master clock generator, connect its clock output
connector to this unit's 10MHz IN CLOCK connector.
Use a commercially available BNC coaxial cable for
connection.
D
ETHERNET port
Use a LAN cable to connect to a network (page 7).
Use a commercially-available LAN cable for connection.
E
USB DRIVE port
Connect USB flash drives that contain audio files here.
F
SIGNAL GND grounding terminal
Connecting this grounding terminal to the grounding terminal
of the D/A converter, amplifier or other device might improve
the audio quality.
o This is not an electrical safety ground.
G
Power inlet (~IN)
Connect the included AC power cord to this socket. After com-
pleting all other connections, plug the power plug into a power
outlet.
V
Use only a genuine ESOTERIC power cord. Use of
other power cords could result in fire or electric
shock.
V
Disconnect the power plug from the outlet if you
will not use the unit for a long time.
Use a BNC coaxial cable with 50Ω or 75Ω impedance.
At ESOTERIC, we use ESOTERIC MEXCEL stressfree cables for
