Remove the nut
and washer from
Belt Keeper
the front side of
the belt cover.
Remove the hex
head screw at the
back of the cover.
See Figure 21.
4.
Remove the belt
keeper assembly
located behind
the engine pulley
by removing the
two hex bolts
and lock washers. See Figure 21.
5.
Remove the idler pulley by removing the bolt and nut. See Figure 21.
6.
Remove the old belt and install the new belt. Follow the instructions in
reverse order to re-install the belt keeper and belt cover. See Figure 21.
NOTE: Upon reassembly, make certain the belt is routed over the idler pulley
and inside of belt keepers by the engine pulley.
Secondary Cable Adjustment
If additional adjustment is necessary after the primary adjustment can no longer be
used, the secondary adjustment can be performed as follows:
1.
Remove the
belt cover as
instructed
in the Belt
Replacement
section above.
2.
Locate the spring
at the end of
the cable. See
Figure 22.
3.
Loosen the upper
nut, then tighten
or loosen the
lower nut until
the proper tension is reached.
4.
Once the proper tension is reached, re-tighten the upper nut to secure
the cable.

cover back and
out from the
bottom of the
tine shield. See

Removing Tine
Assembly
While not necessary,
removing some or
all articulating tines from around the tine assembly will make accessing the
tine assembly easier. See Removing Individual Tines for instructions on properly
removing individual tines.
1.
Remove the
bow-tie cotter
pin from the
clevis pin,
and remove
the clevis pin
securing the tine
assembly to the
transmission
drive shaft.
Slide the tine
assembly off
the shaft. See
Figure 25.
Removing Individual Tines
1.
Remove the top
hardware from
the articulating
tine. This
consists of a
shoulder screw
on the outer side
of the unit, and
a lock nut and
lock washer on
the inner side
of the unit. See
Figure 26.
2.
Remove the lower hardware from the lower hole of the articulating tine. This
consists of a shoulder screw belleville washer and larger flat washer on the
outer side of the unit, and a lock nut and lock washer on the inner side of the
unit. See Figure 26.
NOTE: Carefully keep track of hardware orientation and position while
removing the hardware to ensure proper reassembly.
IMPORTANT!
When reinstalling the tine assembly make sure to always install the
hardware with the screw heads toward the outside of the unit and the nuts toward the
inside of the unit.
