Use to adjust the volume. Turn right to raise the vol-
ume and left to lower it.
PHONES jack

When you use headphones, first reduce the volume
level to minimum. Then, insert the plug from your
headphones into the PHONES jack, and turn the
volume up gradually by turning the VOLUME knob.
o Do not turn the unit on and put it into standby
or connect and disconnect the headphones plug
while wearing headphones.
(Doing so could cause loud noise to be output
from the headphones.)
o When a plug is in the headphones jack, no sound
will be output from the speakers.
Analog audio input jack (AUX 2 IN)

Use to input analog audio signals.
To connect the headphones jack of a portable
music player or similar device to the unit, use the
included stereo mini plug cable to connect it to the
front panel analog audio input jack (AUX 2 IN). In
this case, adjust the volume on the portable music
player. Be careful, however, because turning the
volume of the portable music player up too much
could cause distortion.
Remote control signal receiver

Signals sent from the remote control are received
here. When using a remote, point it toward this
spot.

Display
This shows the track number, time, FM/AM fre-
quency and other information.

Scroll/skip knob

Use when tuning the radio to select stations (page
49).
Use this also to set the current time and the wakeup
timer (pages 25 and 56).
When listening to a CD, use to skip to the previous
or next track (page 33).
