Note:
Do not clean the filter for the carbon monoxide
detector. Replace the filter when it is necessary.
1. Remove the 2 screws and washers and remove the
cover.
2. Remove the plastic nut and replace the filter for the
carbon monoxide detector.
3. Install the new filter for the carbon monoxide
detector in opposite sequence.
To clean or change the spark plug
WARNING:
injury. Make sure the engine is cool before
you remove spark plug.

Hot engine oil can cause
Clean or replace the spark plugs every 100 hours of
operation.
1. Make sure that the engine is cool.
2. Remove the spark plug cap from the spark plug and
remove the spark plug.
3. Clean the electrodes. Use a wire brush to remove
carbon deposits.
4. Examine the spark plug for damage. Replace the
spark plug if it is necessary.
5. Examine the spark plug distance. The distance must
be 0.75 mm (0.030 in). To change the dis-tance, use
a spark plug tool to bend the side electrode.
6. Install the spark plug. Tighten the spark plugs to 22
Nm (2.2 kgf·m, 16 ft·lb).
7. Fit the spark plug cap.
To charge the battery
Use a 12 V battery charger made for lead-acid batteries.
1. Connect the positive (+) clamp on the charger to the
positive (+) terminal on the battery.
2. Connect the negative (-) clamp on the charger to the
negative (-) terminal on the battery.
3. Connect the charger to a power source.
