8. Blade Assembly.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious
bodily injury,
DO NOT use power tools to
assemble the blades. If screws are
overtightened, blades may crack and break.
Time Saver: Washers for blade attachment
screws can be set on each screw prior to
installing blades.
Locate 8 blade attachment screws and fiber
washers in hardware pack. Turn a blade so
the end imprinted with THIS SIDE UP is
turned toward the motor housing. Slide
blade through one of the narrow, rectangular
openings on the motor housing, aligning
holes in blade with holes on the underside of
motor housing. Insert 2 blade attachment
screws (along with fiber washers) with
fingers first and then tighten screws securely
with a Phillips screwdriver. Repeat procedure
for each remaining blade.
NOTE: Tighten blade attachment screws
twice a year.
9. Light Kit Assembly.
Locate 3 screws marked with red arrows on LED light
kit (pre-installed) on underside of motor housing.
Remove 1 screw with red arrow and partially loosen
the other 2 screws with red arrow. DO NOT tamper
with the other screws. Align slotted holes in shade
fitter with loosened screws in LED light kit. Twist
shade fitter to lock. Re-insert screw that was just
removed and securely tighten all 3 screws with a
Phillips screwdriver.
If you wish to USE the light kit, align grooves on
shade with nodules on inside of shade fitter and
push up gently on shade. Twist shade to the RIGHT
(clockwise) until shade locks into place. Pull down
VERY GENTLY on shade to make sure that shade is
secure.
If you do NOT wish to use the light,
metal cover and align with nodules inside shade
fitter. Gently push up on metal cover and turn to the
RIGHT (clockwise)
until it no longer turns.
WARNING: Metal cover will be HOT if light is left on.
