DECALCIFY
When the descale indicator light comes on, you know it is time to clean the boiler. It is then essential to
rinse out this reservoir to prolong the life of your steam generator and avoid limescale deposits.
Self-cleaning function
1.
After about 11 ironing hours, the indicator light above the self-cleaning button will start to
illuminate. This indicates that you need to clean the iron.
2.
Place the iron over a sink.
3.
Turn the temperature knob to position 'Max'.
4.
Make sure there is water in the water tank.
5.
Hold down the self-cleaning button for a few seconds. When the buzzer sounds, it's best to stay at a
safe distance away so you don't burn yourself on the hot steam.
6.
The pump will run water through the iron causing it to clean itself. This takes about one minute.
7.
After about 2 minutes, the cleaning is complete and the appliance can be used again.
If the indicator light remains on, repeat the descaling procedure.
ATTENTION: Use only tap water (or 50% tap water and 50% demineralised water in case of hard water) in
your steam generator.
Caution: softened water should absolutely be avoided! Using a "softener" and/or scented water may
cause brown stains, resulting in damage to the steam chamber.
