PROBLEM SOLVING
CAUSE
The appliance is not plugged in.
You have not set the timer.
The amount of ingredients on the
rack is too large.
The set temperature is too low.
The preparation time is too short.
Certain types of ingredients need
to be shaken halfway through the
preparation time.
You used a type of snack intend-
ed to be prepared in a traditional
deep fryer.
You are preparing greasy ingredients.
The basket still contains traces of
grease from previous use.
You did not use the right type of
potato.
You did not rinse the potato sticks
well before frying.
The crunchiness of the fries depends
on the amount of oil and water in the
fries.
SOLUTION
Place the plug in an earthed socket.
Set the timer key to the brew time re-
quired to turn on the appliance.
Place smaller batches of ingredients
on the rack. Smaller batches fry more
evenly.
Set the temperature pad to the de-
sired temperature setting.
Set the timer to the required prepa-
ration time.
Ingredients that are on top of each
other (eg French fries) should be
shaken halfway through the prepara-
tion time.
Use oven-safe sandwiches or lightly
brush a little oil over the sandwiches
for a crispier result.
When you fry greasy ingredients in
the deep fryer, a large amount of oil
will seep into the pot.
The oil produces white smoke and the
pot may get hotter than normal. This
does not affect the device or the final
result.
White smoke is caused by heating the
fat in the pan. Be sure to clean the
pan properly after each use.
Use fresh potatoes and make sure
they stay firm during frying.
Rinse the potato sticks properly to re-
move the starch from the outside of
the sticks.
Be sure to dry the potato sticks well
before adding the oil.
Cut the potato sticks smaller so they
are crunchier.
Add a little more oil for a crispier re-
sult.
