CHANNEL SELECTION
Pressing SIS provides a user-friendly method of channel selection. A list of channel names is displayed on which you can move up or down
to select the required channel then press OK to confirm. (Pressing SIS repeatedly advances the list by ten channels at a time.)
Selecting channel 0 switches to external audio/video input (AV); this will be the output signal from your video recorder (if connected to
receiver's VCR SCART/PERITEL socket). Most video recorders will automatically set receiver to channel 0 when PLAY is pressed.
If using the number buttons to select a two-digit or three-digit channel number, press the second or third digit within two seconds of the
previous digit.
When STATUS is pressed, current time normally appears with : flashing (if al! time-digits flash, there has been a mains supply interruption
and you should re-set the clock). If current time does not appear when STATUS is pressed, then clock has not been set initially.
Be careful about using on-screen functions (such as STATUS or SIS) while you are recording satellite programmes, otherwise the on-screen
messages will appear on your recording! (This does not apply if your video recorder is connected to receiver's VCR SCART/PERITEL
socket.)
Note that channel selection is available at receiver front panel as well as remote control handset.

TIMER OPERATION
Timer operation is only possible if the clock has been set.
At pre-selected start time(s), receiver will switch on (if it was off) and lock onto pre-selected channel until end time, then switch off.
lf TIMER EVENT ERROR is displayed, then you have made the following mistake(s):
-
you have set the same start and end time,
-
you have set both start and end time earlier than current time,
-
you have set start time the same as start time of another event.
If ERROR does appear, press OK until incorrect setting flashes, then change the setting using SELECT + or —. After a second or so,
ERROR will change to SET. You may then press EXIT.
(Note that each day (at midnight) the day number for every event decreases by one.)
Note if two (or more) events overlap, the one starting first takes priority.
The receiver indicates timer operation on/off using the red and green front panel lights, as follows:
-
red (steady) means receiver is off (standby),
-
red (flashing) means receiver is off ready to switch on at event start time,
-
green (steady) means receiver is on,
-
green (flashing) means receiver is on and a timer event is in progress.
Note if mains supply has been interrupted during a timer event, red and green lights will flash together.
