8. Inspect shaft straightness.
• Ensure the pump shaft is within
0.002" total indicator run-out
(TIR) when the shaft is sup-
ported at each end.
• Straighten shaft mechanically
without using heat.
9. Clean and grease shaft.
10. Insert shaft in motor bracket until it
butts against upthrust set screw.
IMPORTANT: If the shafts are cut to
length, be sure the cut is square and
chamfer the end.
Bowl Assembly
1. Install the impeller onto the shaft.
• Position the bottom against the
bracket/bowl.
2. Use chisel and hammer to
wedge open the collet.
