Using electrical appliances always requires compliance with general safety precautions to
reduce the risk of electric shock and/or injury to person.
These precautions include:

Do not place the drip coffee maker above or near switched on gas or electric rings, in an

oven or near any sources of heat.
Check that the power current corresponds to that indicated on the ID plate affixed to

the base of the appliance.
The appliance is fitted with a short cable. Do not allow the cable to hang from the edge of

the table or work area. Avoid any position that could cause one to trip or become ensnared.
Always connect the appliance to an earthed power socket.

Do not use adaptors and/or extension cables.
10.
Do not pull on the cable when removing the plug from the socket.
11.
Avoid any contact between the cable and any hot surfaces, such as hobs.

The appliance must not be immersed. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not

immerse the power cable, or plug in water or any other liquid.
Leave the appliance to cool down and disconnect it from the mains when not in use,

before assembling or removing any components and before performing any cleaning or
maintenance operations.
If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by an

authorised service centre.
To avoid danger, do not use the product if the power cable or plug are damaged or if

the appliance does not work or is damaged in any way. Take the appliance to the nearest

Never use force to attempt to open the coffee machine body.

Always place the appliance on a flat and dry surface.

Warning : potential injury may cause from misuse of the appliance.

Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended purpose: coffee
preparation. Alessi declines any and all liability for damage caused by improper use
(e.g. not having read the User Instruction Manual carefully, tampering with any part of
the appliance, non-compliance with the Important Safety Information provided or the
use of non-original spare parts).
Do not place utensils in the water tank.

Do not move the appliance while it is in operation.

Do not touch the appliance with wet hands.

To turn the appliance OFF, press the ON/OFF button and disconnect the plug from the socket.

This appliance is not intended to be used by persons (including children) with reduced

physical, sensorial or mental capacities, or with limited experience and knowledge, unless
they are supervised and instructed how to use the appliance by whosoever is responsible
for their safety. Special supervision is required when the appliance is used near or directly
by children. Children must be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
This appliance can be used by children over 8 years of age, provided that they are

supervised by an adult, instructed in advance how to use the appliance safely and
provided that they understand the potential risks involved. Cleaning and maintenance
must not be performed by children under the age of 8 and without supervision. Keep
the appliance and its cable out of reach of children under 8 years of age.
Always place the cover on the tank, the filter holder, filter and jug in the correct

Do not lift the cover while the appliance is in operation.

Do not touch the hot surfaces. Always use the handles and/or insulated pot holders.

The heating base surface remains hot even after use. Do not touch the surface to avoid burns.

The coffee in the jug may remain hot for a long time after preparation. Take care not to

scald yourself.
The jug is designed only for use with this coffee machine. Never use it on hobs, in the

oven or the microwave. To avoid breakage, do not place the hot jug on a wet or cold
surface. Do not use it if it is damaged.
Never leave the empty jug on the heating plate when the appliance is on. The jug may

break or be damaged.
Do not fill the tank above the maximum filling level indicated.

Always check that the tank has been filled before putting the appliance into operation.

The appliance cannot be operated by an external timer or other separate remote
