7. TROUBLESHOOTING
Trouble
Air leak from pressure
switch valve with
compressor off
Performance reduction.
Frequent start. Low
pressure values
The compressor
stops and restarts
automatically after a few
minutes.
After a few restart
attempts, the
compressor does not
start
The compressor does
not stop and the safety
valve is disconnected.

Possible reason
Check the valve that, due to wear or
dirt on the gasket, does not perform
its function correctly.
Excessive performance request,
check for leaks at couplings and/
or pipes. The inlet filter may be
clogged.
Thermal differential trip due to
motor overheating
Thermal differential trip due to
motor overheating (Plug removal
with compressor running, low
power voltage)
Irregular compressor operation or
broken pressure switch
Solution
Unscrew check valve hex head,
clean valve seat and rubber gasket
(replace if worn). Reassemble and
carefully tighten (figures 11 and 12)
Replace gaskets, clean or replace
filter.
Clean the air passages in the
compression unit. Ventilate the work
area. Reset the thermal differential.
On lubricated and V-type models,
check the level and quality of the
oil. On V models, have the voltage
checked.
Activate the on/off switch. Ventilate
the work area. Wait some minutes.
The compressor will restart
independently. On 3 HP V models,
reset thermal differential. Remove
any power cord extensions.
Remove the plug and contact the
nearest Service Centre.
