3 - Fill the pump (fig.3.C pg. 5) until fluid escapes from
the upper vent plug.
4 - Close the plug carefully.
5 - Check the rotation direction of the motor as indicated
on the same.
6 - Start-up the pump and check it is rotating in the right
direction.
7 - Slowly open the gate valve on the delivery side to the
limit.
m
The pump must never operate with the delivery
valve closed.
5.2 Checking rotation direction
Having connected the power supply, the rotation direction
may be inverted in the three-phase version;
in this case, performance is considerably lower
than nominal performance.
To check the exact connection, proceed as follows:
1) On starting up the electric pump, check that the
rotation direction corresponds to that indicated by the
arrow.
2) To correct the rotation direction just invert two phases.
m
For more information about the use and
maintenance of the motor, refer to the "Service
instructions" manual.
m
Remember to connect the earthing system.
m
Depending on the temperature of the pumped
liquid, the surfaces of the pump may reach high
temperatures. If deemed necessary, provide
guards to avoid accidental contact.

6 MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT

c
Before any repair or maintenance on the
electric pump, check that the power supply is
disconnected and that it cannot be accidently
reconnected during maintenance operations.
m
If the electric pump is used for hazardous
liquids, inform the personnel who will carry out
the repair. In this case, clean the pump so as to
guarantee the safety of the operator.
The bearings of the pump and the mechanical seal do not
require maintenance.
If the pump is emptied before a long period of downtime,
remove one of the coupling covers and lightly lubricate
the shaft between the pump head and the motor with
silicon oil so as to prevent the bonding of the mechanical
seal.
Motors without grease nipple: the bearings are greased
for life and do not require any lubrication.
Motors with grease nipple: lubricate these motors with
lithium oil for high temperatures, following the instructions
on the motor cover.
m
For more information about the use and
maintenance of the motor, refer to the "Service
instructions" manual.
Repairing or having the electric pump repaired by
personnel not authorised by the manufacturing company
means losing the warranty and operating with unsafe and
potentially hazardous equipment.
To protect the electric pump against frost, empty it
completely by removing the drainage plug and the filler
plug (fig. 2.B and 2.B pg. 5) so as to allow all the liquid to
flow out of the pump.
When recommissioned, carefully close the drainage plug
and repeat the filling sequence from point 3 on.
7 DISPOSAL
The disposal of this product, or part thereof, must be
executed using local public or private waste
collection systems.
8 TROUBLESHOOTING
c
Before any repairs to the electric pump, check
that the power supply is disconnected and that
it cannot be accidently reconnected during
maintenance operations.
m
If the electric pump is used for hazardous
liquids, inform the personnel who will carry out
the repair. In this case, clean the pump so as to
guarantee the safety of the operator.
