VERIFYING ACCURACY OF LASER LEVELS
Y-PLANE AND Z-PLANE BEAM PERPENDICULARITY
Position the instrument on the floor and turn on both Y-Plane and
Z-Plane beams. Mark two 3" (76 mm) lines where the beams cross on
the floor (a, b) and on the ceiling (c, d). Mark four short lines 10" (254
mm) away on the floor in each direction from where the laser lines
cross (FIG. 3). Pick up and rotate the laser level 180° and position the
beams to line up with the previously marked floor lines (a, b). Mark
two short lines where the beams cross on the ceiling (e, f) (FIG. 4).
The maximum distance between the parallel lines ( d and f, or c and e)
is shown in the Y-PLANE / Z-PLANE BEAM PERPENDICULARITY table.
