Step8:Verify Installation, Operation
andCooktop Alignment
[] Before p erforming
this procedure,
verify
that a llpacking materials
were removed
from inside t hesnorkel and that t hegrea-
sefilters a nd front p anel have been pro-
petty i nstalled. Refer totheCare a ndUse
Manual forinstructions
regarding
filter
and front p anel installation.
[] Plug thevent p ower cordinto aproper
electrical receptacle and ensure that t he
circuit isenergized.
[] A.Raise t hesnorkel toitsfully extended
position bypressing theUP/DOWN
push-button
once. D onothold thepush-
button. The elevating motor wiIi s top
when t hesnorkel reaches itsfull h eight.
(Note: theblower will n ot o perate u nless
the snorkel isfully raised).
[] B.Remove protective tape from topcap.
[] C.Turn t heblower ONbyselecting in
turn each ofthe3 speeds. Let t heblo-
werrun severai minutes ateach speed t o
evaluate itsoperation.
[] D.With theblower running, lower the
snorkel toitsfully retracted position by
pressing theUP/DOWN
push-button
once. The blower will i mmediately
turn
off.
[] E.With theblower onHIGH, close the
windows anddoors t othearea toensure
thatfan does notcause b ack drafting in
any outlet vent foranother appliance.
[] F.Raise a nd lower thevent a gain, and
check t omake s ure that t hetopcapon
thesnorkel does n otcatch ontheback
edge ofthecooktop when itislowered. If
interference
occurs, adjust theposition
ofthecooktop b ymoving i tagainst the
front e dge o fthecountertop.
Failure to
eliminate interference
may result inper-
manent damage tothevent. Also, ensu-
rethat t hevent s upport legs have b een
properly secured tothe cabinet base
using t he screws provided.

the vent system does not operate
satisfactorily during any of the above proce-
dures, review all steps in these Installation
Instructions to ensure that nothing has been
omitted or overlooked. Also, refer to the
Care & Use Manual for additional informati-
