Target laser
When the laser is switched on, the laser dot shows you approximately the centre of the
measuring area. This makes it easier to take precise measurements. To activate the
laser, press the "laser symbol button " when the unit is switched on until the laser
symbol appears in the LCD display. If you now press the key for temperature
measurement, the laser beam will indicate approximately the centre of the measuring
spot. To deactivate, press the "laser symbol key " while the unit is switched on until the
laser symbol goes out.
Spot size - Distance to Spot Ratio (D/S)
To obtain accurate measurement results, the object to be measured must be larger
than the measuring surface of the infrared thermometer. The determined temperature
is the average temperature of the measured area. The smaller the measuring object,
the shorter the distance to the infrared thermometer must be. The exact measurement
spot size can be found in the following diagram. This is also printed on the device.
For accurate measurements, the measuring object should be at least twice
as large as the measuring spot!
i.e. at a distance of 100 cm, the measuring surface has a size of approx. 8.5 cm.
°C/°F changeover
With the "°C" and "°F" keys, the temperature display can be switched between °C and
°F.
Emissivity
The unit is preset to an emissivity of 0.95! The emissivity is a value used to describe
the energy radiation characteristics of a material. The higher this value, the higher the
