Initial Operation
Connecting the hydraulic pump
1. Connect the selected hydraulic pump and the punching unit with the supplied cable assembly. The coupling
must be firmly bolted. The protective caps should not be removed until immediately before assembly.
2. Plug the 5-pin cable connection into the socket provided on the pump and on the punch.
3. Insert the plug on the electrical wires into the plug socket and make sure that the line voltage matches the
voltage indicated on the device.
4. Replace the air-tight metal screw cap on the pump with the orange air-permeable venting screw provided.
Non-compliance may create a vacuum which can lead to damage to the pump.
Attention! The metal screw cap is only provided for transport of the pump.
5. Check the oil level. It should be filled to at least the upper third of the oil level indicator. If the oil level is too low,
you should fill the oil tank with a suitable hydraulic oil (see pump description).
Safe Handling of the Coupling
• The screw couplings used ensure a quick and secure connection and should be inspected
and tightened after a long punching time.
• Observe clean coupling pairs on assembly.
• If the hydraulic hose is disconnected after use, you must put the protective caps
on the coupling hose. Only disconnect the pump and hydraulic punching unit if
it is absolutely necessary.
• Avoid damaging the hydraulic hose during transport.
• If necessary replace the red/black protective sleeve on the pipe package.
• Ensure that the hydraulic hose is not driven over.
