GB
operations described below:
- Protection against external corrosion.
- Protection against internal corrosion.
- Engine packaging and storage.
PROTECTION AGAINST EXTERNAL CORROSION
IMPORTANT
The operations for protecting against
external corrosion must be carried out
with the engine off and cold.
- UNPAINTED SURFACES
Unpainted metal components and
surfaces (e.g. Engine flywheel) must be
protected with "FL MECA FLUID / P118V"
corrosion protection oil.
- RUBBER COMPONENTS
Unpainted sleeves and pipes must be
protected with talcum powder. Check the
tightening of the relevant fixing clips in
advance.
- Remove the accessory belt and protect
the surfaces of the metal pulleys with "FL
MECA FLUID / P118V" spray.
English
- ENGINE OPENINGS
Seal all the engine openings, including the
exhaust. Use cardboard, plywood or metal
covers, making sure they do not leave
behind any fragments of material.
All the engine openings - e.g. air intake
ducts or turbocharger air inlet - must be
protected with suitable covers capable of
preventing solid, liquid materials or dusts
from entering and delaying the evaporation
of the volatile substances of corrosion
protection agents. Apply plugs to the fuel
inlet and outlet pipes.
- BATTERY CONNECTED TO THE
ENGINE
Follow the instructions indicated by the
manufacturer of the vehicle where the
engine is installed.
