Keep third parties away from the power tool's area of
operation. Never work while animals or people,
especially children, are in the danger zone.
Keep the work area clean, organized and well lit (250 to 300
lux), thus decreasing the risk of accidents.
Always wear personal protective equipment and clothing.
Wearing a visor or goggles, dust mask, hearing protection,
anti-slip safety shoes, long-sleeved clothing, gloves and
helmet properly reduces the risk of injury.
Clothing worn during operation must be adequate, tight
and closed, for example, a work boiler suit. Do not wear
loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts.
A massive load of vibrations may damage nervous
and circulatory systems, especially to whom have
circulatory problems. Inform your doctor if any symptoms
arise caused by vibrations. Among these symptoms, that
occur specially on fingers, hand and wrists, are also
included loss of sensation, pain, muscle weakness, skin
discoloration or tingling sensation.
While operating the demolition, plan rest breaks and avoid
operating it for long periods of time. Permanent vibrations
are very harmful.
Control and safety devices installed on the power tool may
not be removed or inhibited.
To avoid accidents, you should also take into consideration
the following precautions and procedures:
▪ When operating the demolition hammer, adopt a stable
position and always keep your balance. Hold the
demolition hammer firmly to ensure continuous
operation and withstand unexpected situations;
▪ Make sure that the ventilation slots are not clogged. Do
not place any objects over the slots;
▪ The accessories (drill bits, flat and pointed chisels) and
the chuck may become too hot during operation. There
is a risk of burns. Wear protective gloves when changing
accessories;
▪ Make sure that you do not damage the electrical circuits,
gas and water pipes when operating the equipment. Any
damage to these installations can cause fire, explosion,
electric shock or property damage;
▪ Avoid using the demolition hammer on surfaces coated
with paints containing lead or other materials harmful to
health. Any contact or inhalation of dust may cause
allergic reactions and/or breathing disorders. Wear a
mask and work with a dust extraction device if the power
tool allows so;
▪ Materials containing asbestos cannot be sanded.
Asbestos is carcinogenic.
