- Complete all wiring connections as indicated in the sequence.
- Switch on the main switch. The LED will light up dimly.
- Switch off the main switch to turn it off.
- Press the push switch. The LED will light up more brightly.
- Since the path of the main switch has a resistor of larger resistance, the current through this path will
be less, and as a result the LED will be less bright. On the other hand, the path of the push switch has a
resistor of smaller resistance, so the current through this path will be more, and the LED will be brighter.

- Switch on the main switch.
- By adjusting the variable resistor, the amount of current in the circuit can be adjusted, and thus can
alter the brightness of the LED.
