spindle. Improper discs may not withstand the loads generated during the operation of the angle grinder. Damaged or decaying
grinding wheels present a risk of serious injury or death.
OPERATION OF THE GRINDER
Remove the plug from the socket!
Before work with the tool make sure the body of the tool and the connection cable are not damaged.
If any damage is detected, it is prohibited to connect the grinder to the mains!
Install the grinding disk guard and the handle.
Do not ever operate the grinder if the grinding disk guard is not installed!
Select an adequate grinding disk and install the disk on the spindle of the grinder.
.
The processed material must be appropriately fi xed so that it does not move during processing, for example using an anvil or
clamps. The disc of the grinder rotates with a high velocity and improper fi xing of the material to be processed may cause its
movements during work, which implies an increased risk of serious injuries.
In case of cutting the material being cut must be supported at both sides of the cutting line, although in a manner that during
cutting does not cause seizure of the cutting disc. The supports must be placed close to the edge of the material being cut and
close to the cutting line.
Wear protective goggles, hearing protectors and protective gloves.
Make sure the switch is off and insert the plug of the power supply cord of the grinder into the socket.
Adapt a correct position which ensures equilibrium and start the grinder with the switch.
If the switch is in the upper section or on the lateral part of the body of the grinder, then in order to turn it on it is required to press
the switch at its rear part, and without releasing it, move it forward towards the symbol „I". The switch is equipped with a catch
that permits to lock it in this position, which facilitates long operation. In order to turn the grinder off , press the switch at its rear
part and let it retract.
If the grinder is equipped with a switch located in the lower part of the handle, then press it and hold the lock button, and afterwards
press the switch. A pressed switch must be held during work, but it is not necessary to hold the lock button. Releasing the switch
will turn the grinder off . Such switch cannot be locked during work.
Proceed to work applying the correct surface of the disk to the material:
- in case of abrasive discs for grinding, it is required to grind with the lateral surface and/or the front surface,
- in case of grinding with fl ap discs, it is required to grind with the lateral surface so that the abrasive paper move parallel to the
material being processed,
- in case of discs with Velcro fasteners to fasten abrasive paper, grinding must be realised with the lateral surface,
- in case of wire brushes grinding must be realised with the tips of the wires and not their lateral surfaces,
- in case of cutting disc sit is required to cut with the front surface, do not polish with the front surface of cutting discs.
While grinding with the lateral surface, it is required to maintain the grinder at an angle which does not exceed 30° to the pro-
cessed surface (V). Move the grinder with smooth movements towards you and away from you.
During cutting the cutting disc should be at the straight angle to the surface being cut. Do not cut at any other angle. It is prohibited
to change the angle of the cutting disc to the processed material during cutting. Cutting must be realised along a straight line.
Otherwise the risk of the disc being seized in the material increases, which may cause rebounding of the tool towards the operator,
or the disc may break.
During cutting the grinder must be moved in the same direction as the rotation of the disc (VI).
During work with the grinder do not exert excessive pressure against the material and do not make violent movements, so as to
avoid seizure or breaking of the grinding disk.
Do not overload the grinder – the temperature of the external surfaces must not exceed 60°C.
once the work has fi nished, unplug the grinder and inspect it.
Attention! The disc may rotate for some time once the grinder has been turned off . Before any inspection wait until the disc has
cooled down. During work both the disc and the processed material may heat up to a high temperature.
Rotation control (VII)
The product features the ability to adjust the rotational speed. Adjustment is done by means of a knob. The lower the dial setting,
the lower the speed. Lower speed is recommended to be used when using the product for grinding with wire brushes or grinding
with sandpaper. Reducing the rotational speed results in reduced heating of discs and the material itself, and it also reduces
the amount of dust generated during operation. However, it should be remembered that due to design solutions, the higher the
rotational speed, the better the product cooling. When working at reduced speed, more frequent breaks should be taken to cool
the product.
Remember! While operating the angular grinder:
Always wear protective goggles.
Do not use grinding wheels whose maximum acceptable tangential velocity is lower than 80 m/s!
