Preset bution
This bution will set ihe TV in the real channel
presetting mode.
Memory button
This bution must be pressed when complet-.
ing the channel preset procedure, i.e., if not
pressed, channel preset cannot be done.
Skip button
Used to specify the channels to be skipped
when selecting a channel! using the channel
selectors (A/V).
Protect button
Used
with
the channel
preset/memory,
channel skip, or fine tuning button to prevent
operation error.
Pr/CH/CC button
Pressing the Pr/CH/CC button changes the
display from VHF/UHF real channel (CH) to
CATV
Channel
(CC)
and
then
to the
programme channel. See "4. Channel Dis-
plays" under "How to Adjust the Channel
Setting.'
Single/Double entry button —/--
This button enables one or two digit entry
when selecting the programme channel. For
one digit entry, seleci "Pr-" (displayed on the
screen, by pressing this button. For two digit
entry, select ''Pr--""
NICAM/NORMAL selector

when
the
optional
AN-258DSS decoder is installed.)
* To receive NICAM broadcast signals, select
the TV and NICAM audio modes (using the
TV/VIDEO and NICAM/NORM buttons on
the remote conirol transmitter).
e When a station is broadcasting NICAM sig-
nals, the NICAM ON-AIR indicator lights
green.
«When the TV set is in the NICAM audio
mode during a NICAM broadcast, the NIC-
AM ON indicaior lights red to indicate that
the TV set is outputting NICAM
audio
signals.
*To change to normal TV audio (FM sig-
nals), press the NICAM/NORMAL selector.
The NICAM ON indicator turns off, and the
TV set outputs norma! TV audio.
¢ lf the NICAM/NORMAL selector is pressed
again, the NICAM audio mode is selected
once again.
Note:
If, during NICAM audio reception, the broad-
cast changes to normal audio and then back
to NICAM audio, the TV set resumes output-
ting NICAM audio signals and displays a 3 se-
cond NICAM
mode
message in the upper
left-hand corner of the screen. For further de-
tails, refer to the table on the right.
NICAM Sound Mode selector

In some cases there can be 2 separate audio
channels (Mi and M2) for a NICAM (DSS)
broadcast (e.g. a bilingual transmission).
In this case simply select the required audio
signal M1 or M2 using this selector.
When the selector button is pressed repeat-
edly, the audio channel! changes in the fol-
jowing manner.
