TELETEXT Mode

(This mode can be engaged only when the
optional AN-216FTX text unit is installed.)
This TV set is optionally equipped with a
teletext decoder for '"'"FLOF"' (Full Level One
Feature) which fets you select the required
information
faster and
more
easily than
previous
systems.

When receiving FLOF broadcasts, switching
the TV operation to Text mode displays 4
colour characters-red,
green,
yellow and
cyan — from the botiom ieft of the screen. If
the desired information is indicated in any of
the 4-colour characiers, press the button on
the
remote
coniro!
transmitter
that
is
coloured the same. The displayed informa-
tion changes to that indicated by the selected
colour characiers. Detailed headings within
that selected category are displayed along
the bottom of the screen. Select any of these
as desired using the same procedures.
lf the desired information is not indicated by
the character display at the bottom of the
screen, return to the INDEX-page "'P100"' by
pressing the INDEX bution, or by keying in
"P100" using the digit buttons. Then, select
the desired information with the digit butions,
O to 9. (For example if you key in P200, press
2 then 0 then 0, the page number will appear
on the upper left of the screen.)
Text/Mix button @/@
eWhen the Text/Mix button is pressed the
first time, the initial position, page 100 for
example, of a TELETEXT broadcast will be
displayed on the screen.
When the Text/Mix button is pressed a se-
cond time, a Teletext broadcast will be su-
perimposed
on
an
ordinary
TV
programme.
Press the bution
again to
reiurn to Teletext broadcast only.
Top/Botiom/Full button E#)
«When
the Top/Bottom/Full
bution
is
pressed the first time, the top half of the
Teletext information will be magnified and
displayed on the screen.
*When
the
Top/Bottom/Full
button
is
pressed a second time, the botiom half of
the Teletext information will be magnified
and displayed on the screen.
eWhen
the
Top/Boittom/Full
button
is
pressed a third time, the above-mentioned
Top and Bottom modes will be cancelled
and the full Teletext information will appear
on the screen. Press the button again to
return to the Top mode.
Picture bution CL)
* When the picture button is pressed in the
Text or Mix mode, each mode will be
changed to an ordinary TV programme
screen. Press the Text/Mix button again to
return to the Teletext page previously onthe
screen.
Hold button
* Any required information can be retained
on the screen by pressing the Hold button
when waiching a Teletext broadcast. Press
the button again to cancel the hold mode.
Reveal button
«When the reveal button is pressed, some
hidden information such as the answer to a
quiz will be revealed on the screen for
about 3 seconds.
Index button Ed
¢ Pressing this bution with text displayed on-
screen, changes the screen back to the
one previously shown.
Time button &@
* You can set the timer only when there is a
signal for the timer setting coming from the
TV station. Press the Time button: Suppos-
ing you select P196. Pressing the Time but-
ton changes the page display in the upper
left corner of the screen as follows: ""P196"'
— "196% * *% &"
Then enter the time you desire with the
digit buttons.
Examples: AM 7:30 ... EnterO -

0 (the screen will show ''1960730"')
PM 1:30 (13:30)... Enter 1 —- 3-— 3- O(the
screen will show "1961330'')
When you have entered the time, press the
Cancel button. The TV programme is dis-
played in the TELETEXT timer mode until
the set time is reached. lf you return to the
TV mode by pressing the Picture or Reset
button so as to watch another channel the
timer mode is cancelled and will not func-
tion. Once the timer mode has been en-
tered and the Cancel bution pressed. Do
not touch the digit buttons as these will
override the previously set time and the
timer will be disengaged.
Note:
Whether it is possible to set the timer or not,
the Teletext information which you are current-
ly receiving will change to the Timer Set mode
if you press 'the Timer button. ''* * * *"' will
appear in the upper left screen. If you enter
the Time Set mode by mistake, it can be can-
celled
by pressing the Time buiton once
again.
After you have set the timer, if you press the
Time button again, the timer will be cancelled.
If you press the Time button while receiving
the TV programme, the current time will ap-
pear on the upper right of the screen for about
five seconds.
Cancel button E)
*lf you press this button while receiving
Teletext you will return to the TV mode.
This bution allows you to recognise if there
is a change in the Teletext information. If
there is a change in the Teletext informa-
tion, the page number is shown in the up-
per left corner of the screen. If you wish,
you may change to the Text mode using the
Text/Mix button.
Note:
In this case, unlike with the Picture button or
Reset button, you return to the TV made but
you remain in the Text mode. This means you
cannot change channels.
Reset button E1)
e When you press this button, the Text mode
is cleared and you return to the TV mode.
In this case, even if you press the Text/Mix
button, the screen changes to the initial
page. (It doesn't return to the TELETEXT
information you had before.)

Browse
and Store buttons, and the page
memory
function
are
inoperable
in the
Teletext mode.
