Safety
Safety instructions
Make sure that any person installing and operating the
liquid temperature indicator:
• Is technically qualified and competent.
• Fully complies with these assembling instructions.
Improper operations or misuse could cause danger to:
• life and limb
• the equipment and other assets of the operator
• the equipment proper function.
Safety instructions in this manual are shown in three
different forms to emphasize important information.
WARNING
This information indicates particular danger to life and health.
Disregarding such a warning can lead to serious or fatal injury.
CAUTION
This information indicates particular danger to equipment and/
or other property of the user. Serious or fatal injury cannot be
excluded.
This notes give important or specific information concerning the
equipment.
Safety notes on the equipment operation
Electrical installation is subject to the relevant national
safety rules.
It is mandatory to connect the grounding cable because of
safety reason.
CAUTION
Installation, electrical connection and fitting the device have to
be carried out by qualified personnel and only in accordance to
this instruction manual.
It is responsibility of the user to make sure that the device is
used for specified application only.
For safety matters, please avoid any unauthorized and improper
work.
WARNING
All relevant fire protection regulation must be strictly observed.

Product description
Liquid temperature indicators 1187
These devices are designed to measure the temperature
of the insulating liquid inside transformer's tank, reactors
and similar equipment. Adjustable switching system
connected to the pointer shaft provides the desired alarm/
trip signals.
WARNING
Fully read this instructions manual before utilizing the device.
Installation
CAUTION
The operating and the installation requirements described in
this manual must be strictly followed. If not, the device can be
damaged or a malfunction can occur.
Mounting of the device
Device shall be attached on the transformer according the
selected mounting fixing system (Flange, Elastic Suspen-
sion): relevant dimensions are indicated in the drawings
in Appendix A. The device should be installed vertically.
Device installation position shall be selected in order to
avoid any irregular vibration and/or electromagnetic fields
above the applicable standards.
Capillary tube
Roll out the capillary tube avoiding kinks and loops. Do not
rip, cut, pull, or bend this tube. Do not handle the device
through the capillary tube. Roll up the excess tube with a
minimum winding diameter of 40cm.
Sensitive bulb
Place the sensitive bulb into the transformer liquid pocket
(DIN pocket 42554 or similar) which has been previously
filled completely with transformer liquid (in case of DIN
42554 pocket, the minimum liquid quantity inside the
quantity must be 80ml).
Maximum pointer (optional)
The maximum pointer (fig. 1/6) is operated by the pointer
and records the maximum reading of the temperature
measurement. The maximum pointer can be reset using
the knob (fig. 1/7).
