3.3.1.2. SIP Proxy and Registrar
Use SIP Proxy: Enable or disable the option to set if a proxy server redirects the packets to the SIP
server.
Use SIP Registrar: Enable or disable the option to set directly the IP of the SIP server.
Registrar IP address or Host Name: Defines the address of the SIP server.
Register Port: Defines the remote UDP/TCP/TLS SIP port for server' SIP messages. The valid numeric
range is from 1024 to 65535 and the default value is 5060.
Registration Expires: Defines the maximum time between registrations.
Registration Failed Expires: Time interval between a failure in registration and the next solicitation.
Use SIP Outbound Proxy: Enable or disable the option to set an outbound proxy server to redirect
the packets to the SIP server.
Outbound Proxy IP address or Host Name: Defines the address of the outbound proxy server.
Outbound Proxy Port: Defines the remote UDP/TCP/TLS SIP port for outbound proxy SIP messages.
The valid numeric range is from 1024 to 65535 and the default value is 5060.
Use Redundant Outbound Proxy: Enable or disable the use a redundant outbound proxy. This
feature allows the configuration of a backup SIP proxy server to increase QoS stability. If the
primary proxy does not respond to SIP signaling messages, device will switch to the redundant
server without the user noticing any connectivity failure or malfunction.
Redundant Proxy mode: Select if redundant proxy work in Asymmetric or Symmetric mode.
Asymmetric mode: The primary proxy is assigned a higher priority for registration than the
redundant proxy. Once the unit is registered to the primary proxy, it sends keep‐alive messages
(using SIP OPTIONS messages) to the primary proxy. If the primary proxy does not respond, the unit
registers to the redundant proxy, but continues sending keep‐alive messages to the primary proxy.
If the primary proxy responds to these keep‐alive messages, the unit re‐registers to the primary
proxy.
Symmetric mode: Both proxies are assigned the same priority for registration. Once the unit is
registered to a proxy, it sends keep‐alive messages to this proxy. The phone switches proxies only
once the proxy to which it has registered, does not respond.
