Safety precautions:
Throughout the manual are safety precautions and instructions for awareness, along with information on
potential hazards. Due to the complexities of this hoist and the environment in which it operates, situations
may arise which are not directly discussed in detail in this manual. This manual is provided as a guide to
personnel involved with the operation and maintenance of the hoist equipment. Only trained and qualified
personnel can operate and maintain this equipment. We recommend that all personnel who operate
and maintain the hoist review and become familiar with this manual. In addition, we recommend that this
manual is kept readily available for reference before beginning operation, maintenance, and testing of this
equipment. Most accidents involving hoist are the result of violating safety rules during operation and/or
lack of inspection and maintenance procedures.

Terms and summary
This manual contains important information to help you properly install, operate and maintain the hoist for
maximum performance and safety purpose. Although you may be familiar with this equipment or similar
equipment, it is very strongly recommended that you read this manual before attempting to operate, install
or maintain the product. Please study the contents thoroughly before putting the hoist in operation. The
following signal words are used to identify the degree or level of hazard seriousness. Follow all instructions
and warnings, failure to operate equipment as directed in manual may cause injury or property damage.
Notice ('Note')
Notice is used to notify people of installation, operation or maintenance information
which is important but not directly hazard related.
Warning ('Warning')
A warning indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result
in death or serious injury and property damage.
Caution ('Caution')
Caution indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in
minor or moderate injury or property damage.
Danger ('Danger')
Danger indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in
death or serious injury and property damage.

A warning indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result
in death or serious injury and property damage.
Don'ts
1.
DON'T operate the hoist until you have read the Operating, Maintenance and parts manual.
2.
DON'T use the hoist to lift, support or transport people.
3.
DON'T lift loads over personnel.
4.
DON'T operate the hoist until all personnel is clear of the supported load.
5.
DON'T operate a hoist which has been modified without the manufacturer's approval or without
certification that it is in conformity with ANSI/ASME B30 volumes.
6.
DON'T operate a hoist unless the load slings or other approved single attachments are properly sized
and seated in the hook saddle.
7.
DON'T use a load chain as a sling or wrap the chain around the load.
8.
DON'T use a hoist with twisted, kinked, damaged or worn load chain.
9.
DON'T operate a hoist on which the safety place cards or decals are missing or illegible.
10.
DON'T operate a damaged or malfunctioning hoist.
11.
DON'T remove or obscure the warning labels on the hoist.
12.
DON'T lift more than the rated load for the hoist.
13.
DON'T apply the load unless the load chain is properly seated in the chain sprocket(s).
14.
DON'T operate hoist when it is restricted from forming a straight line from hook to hook in the direction of
loading.
15.
DON'T operate beyond the limits of the load chain travel.
16.
DON'T leave the load unattended unless specific precautions have been taken.
17.
DON'T apply the load to the tip of the hook or to the hook latch.
18.
DON'T attempt to lengthen the load chain or repair the damaged load chain.
19.
DON'T apply load if bearing prevents equal loading on all load supporting chains.
20.
DON'T operate unless the load is centered under the hoist properly.
21.
DON'T operate a hoist until it has been securely attached to a suitable support.
22.
DON'T allow the load chain or hook to be used as an electrical or welding ground.
23.
DON'T allow the load chain or hook to be touched by a live welding electrode.
Do's
1.
DO shut down a hoist immediately if it malfunctions or performs unusually and report such malfunction.
2.
DO warn personnel of an approaching load.
3.
DO make sure that the hoists limit switches function properly.
4.
DO take up slack carefully – make sure the load is balanced and the load holding action is secure before
continuing.
5.
DO protect the hoist's load chain from weld splatter or other damaging contaminants.
