For many fl_ods, especially roasts and poultry;

guesswork out of roasting by cooking toods to

Use of probes other than tile one provided
with this product may result in damage to tile
probe.
Use tile handles of tile probe and plug when
inserting and removing them fl'om tile meat
and oven outlet.
• To avoid damaging tile probe, do not use
tongs to pull on tile cable when removing it.
• To avoid breaking tile probe, make sure food
is completely defrosted beflwe inserting.
• To prevent possible burns, do not tmphlg

After preparing tile meat and placing it on

proper probe placement.
• The tip of the probe should rest in the center
of the thickest mea W part of the roast.
• Tile probe must be inserted completely into
the meat, up to the handle, in order fl)r it to
read tile temperature
properly.
It should not
touch tile bone, tat or gristle.
For roasts with no bone, insert the probe into
the meatiest part of the roast. For bone-in ham
or lamb, insert tile probe into tile center of tile
lowest large muscle or joint.
Insert the probe into the center of dishes such
as meat loaf or casseroles. When cooking fish,
insert tile probe

above tile gill into
the meatiest area, parallel to the backbone.
Insert tile probe into tile meatiest part of tile
inner thigh fl'om below and parallel to the leg
of a whole tin'key.
