INSTALLATION: Recessed Ceiling Mounting
1. Use screwdriver to open front cover to connect battery
connector. Feed the AC wires out of the housing.
2. Unscrew and remove test switch side end cap.
Disconnect test switch connector, remove test switch
and LED indicator and bushing from end cap. Feed
test switch and LED indicator wire out of end cap,
and replace end cap on housing with screws.
3. Unscrew and remove trim plate from metal box. Fix
test switch and LED bushing on the trim plate.
4. Pry off Junction Box cover with flat screw driver.
Punch out appropriate hole for AC wires feed in.
5. Position recessed kits and bar hangers between
joists. Bar hangers should be level with the bottom
of the joists. With recessed kit and bar hangers in
the correct alignment, temporarily secure in place by
hammering in the "nail-in" tabs on the bar hangers
to the joists. Then permanently secure to the joists
with nails.
INSTALLATION: Recessed Wall Mounting
1. For recessed wall mounting, refer to steps 1–10 above.
2. Ceiling Mount: the EXIT panel may be rotated 0° to 180°.
Wall Mount: the EXIT panel may be rotated 90°.
6. Adjust height of recessed kits vertically using adjusting
slots. Tightening all screws on adjusting slots and bar
hanger bracket to secure placement.
7. Feed AC wires from fixture housing to Junction
Box inside of the metal box, make proper electrical
connections (see Wiring Diagram on page 1). After
wires are connected, replace the Junction Box cover
by inserting one side first and then snapping in the
other side. NOTE: May need to hold the fixture during
wire connection.
8. Insert fixture into metal box and snap by spring.
Connect test switch, and assemble LED indicator on
bushing at trim plate. Fix trim plate on the metal box
with 2 screws.
9. Peel off protective film from acrylic panel.
10. Determine direction for chevron indicator (see Determine
Direction on page 1).
