7. Troubleshooting

Check the following items before requesting service.
Problem
Does not operate.
Air is blown out but does not get cool.
Operates but soon stops.
If the problem still exists after checking the above items, turn OFF the main power to the air-conditioner and contact the dealer or sales representative.
Be sure to give the model name and a description of the trouble (status shown on the remote controller display).
Absolutely do NOT try to repair the unit by yourself.
Inspection status: The unit stops and "1" in the time remaining display of the timer lights up as well as the green lamp where the trouble occurred. All of
the other lamps are off.
•
The switches do not function properly.
•
The breaker goes off often. (The fuse blows often.)
•
Water is spilled onto the unit accidentally.
•
Water leaks from the unit.
•
Something falls inside the unit accidentally.
•
There is a strange noise during operation.
The following items should not necessarily be considered as trouble:
Strange odor: If tobacco smoke or perfume odors are sucked into the unit, the odor may continue for awhile.
The sound of fluid flowing inside the indoor unit can be heard: This sound can be heard sometimes during or after operation, but it is just the sound of
coolant circulating inside the unit.
A clicking sound can be heard coming from the indoor unit:
This sound can be heard at the beginning or directly after cooling and heating, but it is just the sound of the indoor unit expanding or contracting of the
indoor unit due to the change in temperature.

Remote controller
The operation lamp does not light up
even when the ON/OFF button is
pressed.
Operating status display
The green lamps "1", "7" or "12" on
the display showing remaining time
of the timer are lit up, but the other
lamps are all off. (Inspection status)
Cause
Power failure
The main power is off.
A main power fuse has blown.
The leakage circuit breaker has cut
off.
The temperature is not adjusted cor-
rectly.
There is dust or something clogging
the filter.
There is something obstructing the
outlets and intakes on the indoor or
outdoor units.
A door or window is open.
There is something obstructing the
outlets and intakes on the indoor or
outdoor units.
There is dust or something clogging
the filter.
Solution
Press the ON/OFF button after the
power has been restored.
Turn ON the main power.
Replace the fuse.
Turn ON the leakage circuit
breaker.
Check the temperature setting on
the remote controller and also the
air intake temperature. See page
36, for details on how to operate
the temperature adjustment but-
tons.
Clean the filter. See page 48 for
details on how to clean the filter.
Remove the obstruction.
Close the door or window.
Restart the unit after removing the
obstruction.
