Recommendations for Optimal Handling of the
Battery
Protect the battery against moisture and water.
Only store the battery within a temperature range of −20 to
50 °C. Do not leave the battery in your car in the summer, for
example.
Occasionally clean the ventilation slots on the battery using a
soft brush that is clean and dry.
A significantly reduced operating time after charging indic-
ates that the battery has deteriorated and must be replaced.
Follow the instructions on correct disposal.
Fitting
Remove the battery from the power tool before carry-
u
ing out work on the power tool (e.g. maintenance,
changing tool, etc.). The battery should also be re-
moved for transport and storage. There is risk of injury
from unintentionally pressing the on/off switch.
Changing the tool
Wearing protective gloves is recommended for in-
u
stalling and replacing application tools.
Original application tools from the extensive range of Bosch
accessories are available from your specialist dealer.
Changing the collet (see figure A)
Remove the fastening screw (9) and remove the depth
stop (2) together with the dust extraction adapter (3).
Depending on the size of the application tool used, you must
change the collet nut (12) with the collet (11) before use.
If the right collet for your application is already installed, fol-
low the work steps in the following section.
The collet (11) must sit in the output shaft with a small
amount of play. The collet nut (12) must be easy to fit. If the
collet nut or collet is damaged, replace it immediately.
Press and hold the spindle lock button (8). If necessary, turn
the motor spindle manually until it is locked in place.
Unscrew the collet nut (12) with the open-ended
spanner (13) by turning in the direction of rotation ➊.
Release the spindle lock button.
If required, clean all the parts you want to fit with a soft
brush or by blowing them clean with compressed air before
assembling them.
Place the new collet nut on the output shaft (14).
Gently tighten the collet nut by turning in the direction of ro-
tation ➋.
Never tighten the collet with the collet nut if no applic-
u
ation tool is installed. The collet may otherwise become
damaged.
Bosch Power Tools
Insert the depth stop (2) together with the dust extraction
Capacity

Application tools with a spiral groove are suitable for cutting
OSB panels, chipboards, plywood, foam and plastics.
Original application tools from the extensive range of Bosch
accessories are available from your specialist dealer.
Only use undamaged and clean application tools.

Dust/Chip Extraction
The dust from materials such as lead paint, some types of
wood, minerals and metal can be harmful to human health.
Touching or breathing in this dust can trigger allergic reac-
tions and/or cause respiratory illnesses in the user or in
people in the near vicinity.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are classified as
carcinogenic, especially in conjunction with wood treatment
additives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials contain-
ing asbestos may only be machined by specialists.
– Use a dust extraction system that is suitable for the ma-
terial wherever possible.
– Provide good ventilation at the workplace.
– It is advisable to wear a P2 filter class breathing mask.
The regulations on the material being machined that apply in
the country of use must be observed.
Avoid dust accumulation at the workplace. Dust can
u
easily ignite.
Connecting the dust extraction system (see figure C)
Insert the dust extraction adapter (3) into the removed
depth stop (2). Install the depth stop with adapter to the
