THE DECK BELT
Shutthe engineoff and removeignitionkey beforeremovingthe
cuttingblade(s)for sharpeningor replacement. P rotectyourhands
usingheavygloveswhengraspingbladesand pulleys.
TheV-belts foundon yourtractorare speciallydesignedto engage
and disengagesafely.A substitute(non-OEM)V-beltcan be danger-
ous by notdisengagingcompletely.Fora properworkingmachine,
use factoryapprovedbeltsas listedin the PartsList manual.
All belts on yourtractorare subjectto wearand shouldbe replacedif
any signsof wear are present. Tochangeor replacethe deck belton
yourtractor,proceedas follows:

Removethe deck as instructedon page20.
2.
Removethe beltcoversfrom theouter spindlesby removingthe
hexscrewsthat fastenthem to the deck.See Figure14.
