sufficientgreaseto the spindleshaft.

ADJUSTMENTS
Shutthe engineoff, removethe ignition key and engagethe parking
brakebeforemakingadjustments.Protectyourhandsby usingheavy
gloveswhenhandlingthe blades.
NOTE:Checkthe tractor'stire pressurebeforeperforming any deck
levelingadjustments.Referto Tireson page23 for informationregard-
ingtirepressure.
Leveling
the Deck (Front To Rear)
The front of thecuttingdeck is supportedby a stabilizerbar that can
be adjustedto levelthe deck from frontto rear.The frontof thedeck
shouldbe between1/4"and 3/8" lowerthan the rearof the deck.Adjust
if necessaryas follows:
1.
Parkthe tractorparkedon a firm, levelsurfaceand placethe deck
lift leverin the middleposition.
2.
Rotatethe bladenearestthe dischargechutecover sothat it is
parallelwith the tractor.
3.
Measurethedistancefromthe front of the bladetip to the ground
and the rearof the bladetip tothe ground.Thefirst measurement
taken shouldbe between1/4"and 3/8" less thanthe second
measurement.
Determine the approximatedistancenecessaryfor properadjustment
and proceed,ifnecessary.

Loosen(threadoutward)the hexlock nut on the end of the deck
hangerrod.See Figure22.

hexnutagainstthe front hangerbracket.

To Iowerthe front of the deck,loosen(threadoutward)the hex
nut,away fromthe front hangerbracket.

Retightenthe lock nutagainstthe hex nutwhenproperadjust-
mentis achieved.
