Operation
After connecting speaker boxes and program sources as well as
the antenna,
the receiver may
be turned on by pressing the
power switch.
The speakers are only turned on after a slight
delay. This delay is caused by an electronically controlled relay.
In this way, popping and crackling at power on are effectively
eliminated. When the receiver is switched off however, the
speakers are immediately disconnected from the power stages
to prevent noise. Should a DC voltage appear at the power out-
put, the speakers are immediately disconnected before they
can be damaged.
Now select the desired program source (AM,
FM, PHONO,
TAPE
etc.) and switch on the corresponding
unit.
Reassure
yourself that the strap connections from the
preamplifier outputs (PRE OUTPUT)
and main amplifier in-
puts (MAIN INPUT) are securely connected,
Station and frequency range selection
By pressing the FM or AM
keys, you select the corresponding
frequency range:
FM = 87.50 — 104 MHz
AM = 513 — 1602 kHz
VHF range
Medium-wave range
FM SCAN
FM stereo reception
MUTING/VHF interstation muting
The signals arriving from extremely weak broadcasters can be
suppressed with the MUTING circuitry (switch in ON position).
Turn off the muting feature if you wish to hear a weak broad-
cast (switch in OFF position).
