Centering the stereo unit
With the mode switch set to MONO, adjust the balance control
so that when sitting approximately as far away from the stereo
unit as the distance between the speakers, a sound source ap-
pears to be exactly in the center between the two speakers.
After switching over to stereo, the system is correctly set for
stereophonic reproduction.
When
playing mono
records, it is also advisable to follow the
same procedure to obtain the best possible spatial effect.
FILTERS
HIGH/noise
When
playing old or worn
records, or receiving stereo radio
programs which are not completely satisfactory, reproduction
is frequently marred by disturbing noise. High frequency noise
can be considerably reduced by turning the HIGH switch ON
LOW/rumble
CLOCK/time display
The counter unit fitted in the unit is also used for displaying
the time of day with quartz controlled accuracy. After con-
nection
to the mains supply, pressing the CLOCK
key causes
a time display to appear on the display unit. By simultaneously
pressing the keys SET HOURS
or SET MIN, the time can be
varied in hour or minutes steps. The illuminated dot between
the hours and minutes display flashes once per second.
