Step 11: Prime the DI Water Pump
Note: The DI water reservoir was filled in Step 5 and the DI pump
is now ready for priming.
1. Ensure that the resin cartridge is in
the Prime position (Step 5).
2. Press the power switch to On and let
the Analyzer run 180 min.
3. After 180 minutes, on the Home
screen, shut down the system and
turn off power to the Analyzer.
Warning: To avoid the possibility of corrupting the
Analyzer's operating system, always FIRST shut down
the system on the Analyzer's Home screen before
pushing the Analyzer's power switch to the Off position.
4. View the reservoir water level and verify that the
float is positioned JUST BELOW the top of the
reservoir. (The color of the resin in the cartridge
should be black.)
5. If the water level is now lower due to the
circulation process, fill the DI water reservoir as
needed. There is no need to prime again.
6. Install the DI resin cartridge into the RUN position.
Ensure that the ends are secure.
7. Close and latch the Analyzer's door (On-Line
model) or replace the panel (Laboratory and
Portable models).
Step 12: Configure Basic Analyzer
Settings
Before placing the Analyzer into service, record the
installation of the reagents on the Consumables tab
of the Maintenance screen. In the appropriate Acid or
Oxidizer section, press Renew.
Use the Analyzer screen to configure various basic
settings, including optional security (Password
Protection or DataGuard) using the touchscreen
display. Most of these settings will not need to change
unless moving the Analyzer or reconfiguring the
operational environment.
Step 13: Flush the Analyzer
Use these steps to flush the reagent syringes.
To also rinse the Analyzer's sample fluidics (optional
for low TOC applications), refer to the Analyzer's
Operation and Maintenance Manual for instructions.
To flush the reagent syringes
1. Connect to either a continuous DI water source or
a large flask (1000-2000 mL) of DI water.
2. Power on the Analyzer.
3. On the Maintenance screen, select the Advanced
tab.
RUN Position
4. Press Syringe Flush and follow the on-screen
prompts.
5. Shut down the system and turn the power switch
to Off.
Step 14: Install a Sievers
Autosampler
(Laboratory and Portable TOC Analyzers Only)
If planning to use a Sievers Autosampler with
the Analyzer, install it now. Refer to the Sievers
Autosampler Installation Guide (available for
download from our website) for complete installation
instructions.
