therefore safest to always position the chain saw
as fl at as possible (Fig. 21).
Warning!
Make sure that the chain tension is always
correctly adjusted.
Only use a chain saw if it is in perfect working
order.
Only work with a saw chain that has been
properly sharpened in accordance with the
instructions.
Never operate the chain saw above shoulder
height.
Never cut with the upper edge or the tip of the
bar.
Always hold the chain saw firmly with both
hands.
Cutting wood which is under tension
Special care is required when cutting wood
which is under tension. Wood which is under
tension from which it is released by cutting may in
some cases react completely unpredictably and
uncontrollably. In the worst case this could result
in extremely severe or even fatal injuries (Fig.
22-23).
This type of work must only be performed by
persons who have been specially trained
6.6 Charging the Lithium-Ion battery (not
included)
The corresponding instructions can be found
in the original operating instructions for your
charger.
6.7 Battery capacity indicator (Fig. 24 / item
17)
Press the battery capacity indicator switch (18).
The battery capacity indicator (17) shows the
charge status of the battery using 3 LEDs.
All 3 LEDs lit:
The battery is fully charged.
2 or 1 LED(s) lit:
The battery has an adequate remaining charge.
1 LED fl ashing:
The battery is empty, recharge the battery.

All LEDs fl ashing:
The temperature of the battery is too low. Remove
the battery from the device and leave it at room
temperature for a day. If the error occurs again,
this means that the battery has been completely
depth-discharged and is defective. Remove the
battery from the device. Never use or charge a
defective battery.
7. Cleaning and maintenance
HAZARD!
Remove the battery each time before
cleaning.
Never immerse the unit in water or other
liquids to clean it.
7.1 Cleaning
Regularly clean the clamping mechanism by
blowing it out with compressed air or cleaning
it with a brush. Do not use tools for cleaning.
Keep the handles free of grease so that you
can maintain a firm grip.
Clean the device as required with a damp
cloth and, if necessary, mild soap.
Briefly immerse the saw chain and the bar in
an oil bath and then wrap them in oil paper.
7.2 Maintenance
Replacing the saw chain and bar
The bar needs to be replaced if:
The guide groove of the bar is worn.
The adaptor plate in the bar is damaged or
worn.
Sharpening the saw chain
Eff ective working with the chain saw is only
possible if the saw chain is in good condition and
sharp. This also reduces the risk of kickback.
The saw chain can be re-sharpened by any
dealer. Do not attempt to sharpen the saw chain
yourself unless you have the necessary special
tools and experience.
