CAUSE

Chain does not engage
drive sprocket.
◾
Debris preventing full
movement of the chain
kickback brake paddle.
◾
Possible chain brake
malfunction.
◾
Insufficient chain
tension.
◾
Dull chain.
◾
Chain installed
backwards.
◾
Worn chain.
◾
Dry or excessively
stretched chain.
◾
Chain is not in bar
groove.
◾
The chain will
become loose as the
temperature of the
chain increases during
normal saw operation.
◾
Chain does not engage
drive sprocket.
SOLUTION
◾
Remove the battery pack and reinstall the
chain, making sure that the drive links on
the chain are fully seated on the sprocket.
◾
Clean debris from external chain brake
mechanism.
◾
Contact EGO Customer Service for repair.
◾
Tension the chain following the section
"ADJUSTING THE CHAIN TENSION" until
the chain is correctly tensioned.
◾
Sharpen the chain cutters, following
the section "HOW TO SHARPEN THE
CUTTERS".
◾
Remove the battery pack and reinstall
the saw chain, following the section
"REPLACING THE BAR AND CHAIN"
◾
Remove the battery pack and replace the
chain following the section "REPLACING
THE BAR AND CHAIN"
◾
Check the oil level. Refill the oil tank if
necessary.

Remove the battery pack and reinstall
the saw chain, following the section
"REPLACING THE BAR AND CHAIN"

Tension the chain following the section
"ADJUSTING THE CHAIN TENSION" until
the chain is correctly tensioned.

Remove the battery pack and reinstall the

THE BAR AND CHAIN". Ensure that the
drive links on the chain are fully seated
onto the sprocket.
