8. Apply suitable pipe sealant to
threads of 1/2 inch fitting and install into reducer
elbow in coolant passage.

22. Compressing clamp with pliers, install free end of
short hose to fitting.
23. Rotate hex fitting to close radiator drain cock.
24. Install cable straps as necessary to ensure hoses
do not contact hot exhaust pipes, and moving or
vibrating engine parts. Burned or abraded hoses
can result in coolant leaks.
25. Install plug at end of drain hose. Install drain hose
in holding clamp.
26. Rotate and remove plastic cover at top of
enclosure to access radiator filler neck.
27. Insert funnel into radiator filler neck.

29. Install radiator cap.
30. Press the MANUAL key on the control panel
keypad to start the engine.
31. Allow engine to run until the thermostat opens, as
indicated by heating of the top radiator hose.
32. Check coolant hoses for leaks. Tighten clamps, if
necessary.

33. Press the OFF key on the control panel keypad to
shut the engine down.
34. Wait five minutes for the engine to cool.
Risk of burns. Do not open coolant system
until engine has completely cooled.
Doing so could result in serious injury.
35. Slowly unscrew and remove radiator cap.
36. Add additional coolant if necessary.
NOTE: Use only Peak Fleet-Charge® 50/50 ethylene
glycol type coolant (available from any authorized
Generac dealer).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not use propylene glycol type
coolant. Using the wrong coolant, mixing different
types of coolant, or even mixing different brands of
the
correct
unsatisfactory results, possibly leading to engine
damage.
37. Install plastic cover at top of enclosure and rotate
until tight.
38. Connect 3-prong plug of block heater to customer
supplied junction box.
Clean up all coolant that may have spilled during the
installation of the block heater kit.
