safelycleanthe chuteassemblyand chuteopening:
1.
Releaseboththe AugerControland the DriveControl.
2.
Stopthe engine by removing the key.
3.
Removethe clean-outtool from theclip which securesit to the
rearof the auger housing.
4.
Usethe shovel-shaped end of the clean-outtool to dislodgeand
scoop any snowand ice whichhas formedin and nearthe chute
(_
assembly.

5.
Refasten the clean-outtoolto the mountingclipon the rearof
the auger housing,reinsertthe key and startthe snowthrower's
engine.

Whilestandingin the operator'sposition(behindthe snow
thrower),engagethe augercontrolfor a few secondsto clearany
remainingsnowand icefrom the chuteassembly.

Oil Fill
Removeoil cap to add oil. Referto the Maintenance& Servicesection
for checkingand addingoil instructions.

Removegas cap to add fuel. Unit runson regulargas.
NOTE:This unit may includea fuel plug,whichis only usedduring
assemblyto keepdirt and debrisout of fuel tank. Discardthefuel plug
beforefillingthe fuel tank.

Oil
The unitwas shippedwith oil in the engine.Checkoil levelbeforeeach
operationto ensureadequateoil inthe engine.Forfurther instructions,
referto the Maintenance & Servicesectionof this manual.
NOTE: Be sureto checkthe engineon a levelsurfacewith theengine
stopped.
1.
Removethe oil filler cap/dipstickand wipe thedipstickclean.
2.
Insertthe cap/dipstickintothe oil fillerneck,turnthe cap 1/4turn
until fully seated.

NOTE: On some engines,a threadedcap/dipstickmay exist
insteadof a 1/4turncap as describedabove.In this instancedo
not fully tightenthe cap tocheckthe oil level.Simply restthe cap
on thethreadsto checkfor properoil level.
Removethe oil filler cap/dipstick.If thelevelis low,slowlyadd
oil (5W-30,witha minimumclassificationof SF/SG)untiloil level
registersbetweenhigh (H) and low (L).
NOTE: Donot overfill.Overfillingwith oil may resultin engine smoking,
hard startingor sparkplug fouling.
4.
Replaceand tightencap/dipstickfirmlybeforestartingengine.
Thethrottlecontrolis locatedon theengine.It regulatesthe speedof
theengine and will shutoff the enginewhenplacedin the Stop0
position.
