Drive Links
• Place t hechain o ver andbehind the
ctutch, fitting the drive l inks i nthe clutch
drum sprocket.
Place chain onto t he sprocket
• Fit b ottom
ofdrive links b etween
the t eeth
inthe s procket
in the nose of t he guide bar.
• Fit c hain drive Iinks into bar groove,
• Pull guide bar forward
until chain issnug in
the g rooveofthebar,
Ensure
all drive links
are inthe bar g roove.
• Hold guide bar against
the s aw frame mak-
ing sure t he adjusting
pin isaligned
with
the hole i nthe bar. Remember
this pin
moves the bar forward
and backward
as
screw i sturned, Install the chain brake,
• Replace
the chain brake nuts a nd t ighten
finger tight. Once the chain istensioned
you will need totighten chain brake nuts.

NOTE: When a djusting
chain t ension,
make sure t he chah_
brake nuts a re finger
tight only, Attempting
totension the chain
when t he chain b rake nuts a re tight can
cause damage.
Checking the tension:
Use t he screwdriver
end o f t he chain adjust-
ment tool (bar tool) to move the chain around
the bar. Ifthe chain does not rotate, itistoo
tight, iftoo loose, the chain will sag b elow the
bar.

Adjusting
the tension:
Chah_
tension
is
very
important,
Chain
stretches
during use. This is especially
true
during the first few times you use your saw.
Always
check
chain tension
each time you
use and refuel your saw.
You can adjust the chain tension
by loosen-
ing the chain brake nuts and turning the ad-
justing screw
1/4 of a turn while lifting up on
the bar.
• If chain is too tight, turn adjusting screw 1/4
turn counterclockwise.
• If chain is too loose, turn adjusting
screw
1/4 turn clockwise.

• Lift up the tip of the bar and tighten the
chain brake nuts securely
with the bar tool.
• Recheck
chain tension, Tension is correct
when chain does not sag below the bar but
still can be moved around the bar.

WARNING;
If the chain is operated
with a loose chain, the chain could jump off
the guide bar and result in serious
injury.
