Limescale normally builds up with the use of the applian-
ce. Descaling is then necessary every 3-4 working mon-
ths and/or when you notice any reduction in water flow.
if you want to descale the machine yourself,
you can use a non-toxic and/or non-harmful
descaling solution for coffee machines, commonly
available in retail stores. We recommend using saeco
descaling solution.
Warning! never use vinegar as a descaler.
• Remove and empty the water tank.
• (Fig. 5) - Mix the descaling solution with water as specified
on the descaling solution box and fill the water tank. Fit
the tank into the machine.
• (Fig. 11) - Switch on the machine by turning the power
button to "I" position. The green indicator (14) will flash.
• (Fig. 12) - Place a container below the hot water wand.
• Turn the dispensing knob (12) anticlockwise to drain, at
intervals - one cup at a time - the whole descaling solution.
Turn the dispensing knob to the central position to stop
the dispensing.
• (Fig. 2) - During each interval allow the descaling solution
to sit for about 10-15 minutes, switching off the machine
with the power button (11). Empty the container.

• (Fig. 5) - When the descaling solution is finished, remove
the water tank, rinse it and fill it with fresh drinking wa-
ter.
• Reinsert the tank in the machine. Turn the dispensing
knob (12) anticlockwise to empty 2/3 of the water. Turn
the dispensing knob to the central position to stop dispen-
sing.
• Let the machine warm up and empty the water tank as
described above.
if you are using a descaling solution other than
the one recommended, it is important that you
carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions detailed
