3.4.2
Test of air supplies of up to 10 bar
After selecting the test program, select the water range:
5 to 200 mg/m³ for systems incorporating desiccant dryers.
50 to 2000 mg/m³ for standard airline systems with or without
fridge dryer.
Then select the method for the oil measurement. The measurement is
carried out using
the Dräger-Tube Oil 10/a-P
or
the Dräger Oil-Impactor.
When using the Dräger-Tube Oil 10/a-P the oil type to be measured
must be selected. The data of more than 400 different oil types can be
selected. After pressing the "Change Oil" key, new oils and the
corresponding data can be added. For this follow the menu.
The measurements with the Dräger Oil-Impactor are independent of
the oil type.
Press the
arrow and follow the menu for the next steps. The flow
control valve (8) must be closed.
After the prompt, connect the Dräger Aerotest 5000 with the breathing
air hose of the air supply to be tested. Use an inlet coupling, if required.
The test must be carried out in the 2 to 10 bar range.
NOTICE
i
i
If the Dräger Aerotest 5000 is over-pressured an
overpressure warning is displayed and the unit will cease to
perform the test. The Dräger Aerotest 5000 must be sent to
Dräger to be tested and readjusted.
The input pressure is displayed on a bar graph. The system pressure
is displayed automatically.
NOTICE
i
i
The pressure dewpoint at the end of the test will be calculated
on the recorded system pressure.
22
For the majority of applications the system pressure from the standard
settings is used. If the system distributes the breathing air with a
different pressure to that being displayed this must be entered.
To enter press the (Set) key and use the keypad to enter the required
value, then press the right arrow. This automatically resets the system
pressure in the measured pressure. Press the arrow keys to continue
and confirm that the flow and pressure are correct for the test.
NOTICE
i
i
In case of a loud exhaust air flow hearing protection may be
required.
Adjust the system's flow control valve so that the flow meter displays
the required value. Then check that the pressure is sufficient for
measuring the breathing air to be tested. It is recommended that this
flow be used for the complete duration of the test to simulate the
conditions of use.
Press the arrow key to proceed if the flow and pressure meet the
minimum requirements of the air supply to be tested.
If a foul odor can be detected at the sintered air outlet (6) stop the test
and press the "Fail" key. Seriously contaminated air could result in
damage of the Dräger Aerotest 5000. If no foul odor can be detected,
press the "Pass" key.The Dräger Aerotest 5000 will commence a
purge sequence of approx. 5 minutes to remove contaminations from
previous measurements. Once the purge has finished, break off the
tips of the selected Dräger-Tubes and insert them into the
corresponding tube sockets (2-5). The arrow on the tube points away
from the device. Manually tighten the tube socket on the device.
The Dräger Oil-Impactor is inserted into the socket for the oil tube (2).
NOTICE
i
i
Do not remove the protective foil of the Impactor until after the
measurement has been completed. Observe the Instructions
for Use provided with the products when using the Dräger-
Tubes or the Dräger Oil-Impactor.
