The device is now adjusted to your settings and is ready for breath
tests.
Of course these and further settings can be adjusted in the device
menu (see "Menu items", page 13).
4.3
Carrying out a breath sample
A new mouthpiece must be inserted for each person who provides
a breath test.
For hygiene reasons, hold the mouthpiece only on the grip zones.
Do not allow any high alcohol concentrations on the sensor, e.g., by
rinsing the mouth with a high proof alcohol shortly before the
measurement, as this will shorten the service life of the sensor.
4.3.1 Procedure
1. Remove the safety cap from the top of the device.
2. Insert a new mouthpiece (order no. 83 25 250) into the
mouthpiece receptacle (see Fold-out Page).
For hygiene reasons, hold the mouthpiece only on the grip zones.
3. If the device is switched off, keep the button pressed for approx.
1 second until the startup screen is displayed.
4. READY is displayed after approx. 4 seconds. The device is ready
to measure.
5. Take a deep breath and blow evenly and without interruptions into
the mouthpiece.
Do not cover the outlet opening on the mouthpiece with your hand.
You have to blow a volume of 1.2 liter and at least 1.6 seconds for
a valid test. If blowing normally this will take 2-3 seconds. A
continuous tone sounds simultaneously and stops when the test
parameters are fulfilled and the device has taken the sample.
The test result is displayed after a few seconds (depending on the
device temperature and the measured concentration).
In case of a negative alcohol test, 0.00 will be displayed. In case of
a positive test, the measured alcohol level will be displayed.
